5 Hawaii Whale Watching Tips For An Unforgettable Adventure

Each year, the Humpback Whales migrate around 4,000 miles, from summer feeding grounds in Alaska, to mate in Hawaii's warm waters.

During mating season, Humpback Whales are more active resulting in elevated surface activity which makes Hawaii a popular destination for whale watching. This exciting surface behavior, such as breaching and tail slaps, make for exciting whale watching in Hawaii.

As a Hawaii local and avid waterman, I have 5 simple tips that will help you get the most out of your Hawaii whale watching adventure. So before planning your next Hawaii vacation, follow these tips and you might just have an unforgettable whale encounter!

1. Plan Your Trip During Peak Months

Humpback Whales begin arriving in Hawaii in November and head back to Alaska in late May. If you have planned a Hawaii vacation during this time, you should have no problem spotting whales. However, peak Hawaii whale watching season occurs during February and March. So if you have not made your travel arrangements yet, shoot for these months.

2. Visit Islands Known For Whale Watching

Maui, Kauai and the Big Island are the most popular islands for Hawaii whale watching, so plan to visit one of these islands on your vacation. If you are visiting Oahu, you can see whales there too, they just won't be as abundant.

3. Plan A Boat Tour

Hawaii whale watching tours are ideal for seeing these spectacular animals in their natural habitat. Not only will you be in the whale's environment, but because humpback whales are curious about their surrounding, they will sometimes approach your boat. Plan a Hawaii boat tour to truly get the most out of your whale watching adventure.

Boat tours are available departing from Lahaina Harbor many times throughout the day during whale season. On the Big Island and the island of Kauai, whale-watching opportunities abound with a full schedule of tours provided by seasoned, knowledgeable guides.

Humpback whales may also be observed from land if you prefer solid ground to the deck of a boat. On Kauai the Kilauea Lighthouse, Kealia Lookout and various high-points of land in coastal areas are good places to start. Once you're in the right place, spotting the whales is easy: just look for the majestic plumes of water ("blows") rising in the air and the playful splashes made by these gigantic creatures.

4. Respect their space

In Hawaii, whale watching is an avid activity, and like with most outdoors activities, there are rules. Observers may not approach by vessel or by swimming within 100 yards of a whale (known as the 100-yard minimum rule). However, there is no rule that keeps whales from approaching people. Experienced leaders of Hawaii whale watching tours know how to gently approach these animals and encourage them to come closer.

5. Preserve the Humpback Whale

The humpback whale almost came to extinction in 1966 after mass commercial whaling during the early 20th century. Today there are approximately 30,000 to 40,000 humpbacks worldwide. Federal laws protect them, but there are things we can all do to help preserve this amazing animal for future whale watching generation.

* Keep beaches and waters clean and debris-free
* Participate only in responsible whale watching activities
* Support efforts to stop illegal whaling
* Support legislation, research and preservation programs
* Patronize eco-friendly companies and organizations

You can read books about whales, but with so many opportunities to see them up-close and personal, there's no reason why you shouldn't start thinking now about your next Hawaii whale watching tour. It's fun, it's easy and it's a great experience for the whole family.

Hawaii resident and adventure traveler, Justin Britt, invites you to learn more about Humpback Whales in this http://www.napali.com/hawaii_whale_watching. And If you're planning a trip to Kauai, learn more about http://www.napali.com/.Phyllis Blog42019

New Car Lease - What You Need To Know

Should I buy or lease a car? Lease vs buy car? Who can resist the ads? Lease the car of your dreams for a mere $199.00 and very little down. It doesn't take much to see why leasing a car has become a popular option for those who either can't afford to buy a new car, or can't afford to upgrade to the model they really want.

On the surface, leasing a car may seem too good to be true - and oftentimes it is. Sure, leasing often gets you in a better car, but is it a better deal? For most people, the answer is no. Unless you need a short-term arrangement due to work or school demands, leasing often costs much more in the long run than buying.

Some questions you might consider if you can't keep up the payments, for example:

1. How to get out of a car lease.

2. Penalties for breaking a car lease.

3. Can you buy lease car.

4. Can you take over car lease.

5. Consider a car lease transfer.

What are some of the disadvantages of leasing? Check these out and see:

- If you continue to rollover car leases, payments never end, because you never "own" the vehicle.

- Limited Mileage. Leases offer a limited amount of miles per year that the car can be drive. Go over those limits, and pay extra when the lease ends

- The vehicle must be kept in tip-top shape. Scheduled maintenance must be done on time. You'll also pay for any scratches, dents, spots, stains, and general wearing on both the interior and exterior of the vehicle at the end of the least

- There's no backing out. Once a lease agreement is signed, you're in it until the end. If something happens, and you find yourself in need of getting out of a lease before it expires, plan on paying hefty terminations fees and penalties immediately

- Depreciation Hurts. All cars begin to lose value as soon as they are driven off the lot, but leased vehicles seem to be hit harder due to the fact that payments are so low, hindering any chance of having any equity in the vehicle.

Without the ability to trade it in at the end of the lease, that may not seem like a bad thing, unless you're in an accident. If the car or truck being leased happens to be totaled in an accident, the insurance company is only liable for the estimated value - not the total lease payoff - leaving you with a potential bill. Of course you can purchase separate leasing insurance - for a price.

- When it ends, you have no car. Most leases today range from 2-5 years. The average is 36 months. That means, in just three short years, you'll be forced to acquire another new vehicle. That may mean paying another down payment, and setting up yet another payment schedule. At least when you buy a car, you have some time to find a replacement.

- You're stuck with what they have. Customizing a vehicle is generally out of the questions when leasing. You are forced to take whatever color and options they have, which may not be necessarily what you want.

A new or used car lease can be a viable option for some consumers; the trick is to understand both its pros and cons before rushing to the showroom to make a deal.

How To Travel Safely

With headlines reporting terrorist attacks every day, vacationers are more than ever on the alert. By taking a few extra precautions and staying alert, you can avoid spending part of your holiday filing a report at an exotic police station.

BEFORE YOU GO:

Call ahead. While deadbolts and peepholes are standard in motel rooms these days, safety awareness on the part of hotel management varies widely, so it is worth calling ahead to ask specific questions.

Look for electronic key cards, instead of regular room keys. Look for rooms that open onto an interior hallway, rather than to the outside. While it is easier to unload the car when it is parked right outside the door, a room that opens directly onto parking makes it easier for thieves to monitor your comings and goings, and to get into your room when you drive off for a day.

The electronic cards are reprogrammed for each new guest. Do not pack valuables in baggage you plan to check. Your bags will pass through a lot of unsupervised hands on its cross-country flight, so keep your jewelry, money and travelers checks close at hand in a carry-on bag. There is always the chance that your baggage may not keep up with you, so pack medications and prescriptions in your carry on bags.

AIRPORT SAFETY:

Watch your bags! Baggage theft at airports is on the rise and half of the bags stolen are those left unattended. Thieves know that carry-on bags are where people carry their valuables and cash.

Outside the airport, too, and anywhere on the road, never leave your bags unattended for a second, especially in Europe and Asia. Use teamwork. Have one family member--a teenager or adult--anchor the bags and the younger kids while an adult goes off to get directions or a cab.

Watch your pockets. People bumping into you could very well be pickpockets, and people asking you questions could be diverting your attention while an accomplice grabs your bag.

This advice applies especially to tourist attractions and public transportation, as well. Consider purchasing a money belt or moneybag that you wear inside your clothing, and using it. Carry in your pockets only enough cash for a day, and only one credit card.

ON THE ROAD WITH YOUR RENTAL CAR:

When you pick up your car rental, ask which parts of town to stay away from. Staying away from high-crime parts of town could be the most important safeguard you can take. It is all too easy to inadvertently drive into bad neighborhoods when you are in a strange city, but with a little foresight and a decent map, it is just as easy to avoid them.

Do not look like a tourist. Tuck the Disneyland bags and travel guides discreetly away in the trunk when you are away from your car. It never hurts to leave a local paper in plain sight to further enhance the illusion that you are one of the locals. Leave nothing in sight. Cars have been broken into for jackets and shopping bags.

Stick to cars that are unobtrusive and blend in. Forget the car wash! A cruise down a dusty road, or through a few mud puddles, will make your rental look lived in!

LOCALES:

One of the best things you can do to protect yourself is know where the bad neighborhoods are, and to avoid them. Before you leave your hotel, ask which way to turn when you walk out the door, and which direction to avoid.

HOTEL SAFETY:

Know where the emergency exit is in case of fire. Show your children how to call the front desk. While they may know how to dial 911 in case of emergency at home, unless you tell them, they will not know to dial 9 for an outside line, or to dial 0 for the hotel receptionist.

On an index card, write the name of each child, your name and hotel address and phone number, as well as the phone number of a close friend or relative back home. Always have a recent, clear photo of your child with you. If you do get separated, the authorities will want an up-to-date picture.

You do not need a wallet full of credit cards when you travel. Bring only what you need--two should be enough--and leave copies of the front and back of each card, and any other important documents you are carrying, with a friend or close relative. If they are lost or stolen, you will have easy access to the necessary information.

Also leave a list of your travelers checks by number. A member of the party who is not carrying the credit cards and travelers checks should also carry a copy of this list. Consider having Mom carry one credit card, and Dad carry the other.

HEALTH:

Travel health depends on your pre-departure preparations, your day-to-day health care while traveling and how you handle any medical problem or emergency that does develop. While the list of potential dangers can seem quite frightening, with a little luck, some basic precautions and adequate information few travelers experience more than upset stomachs.

Remember, you can have a very enjoyable vacation while being careful and alert to your surroundings. If something does not seem right, do not ignore your feelings. It is always better to err on the side of caution.

Leonardo da Vinci: Leonardos Animals Part 2 (of 2)

Leonardo is known to have kept horses, along with dogs, cats and other animals. Although numerous animal studies are found throughout Leonardo's drawings, his most frequent animal sketches are of horses. His renderings are extremely detailed and life-like. He infused his renditions of animals with nobility a characteristic that stemmed from his deep love and respect for the animals he sketched and painted.

In the mid 1480s, Leonardo moved from Florence to Milan. At that time, Milan was one of the most powerful city-states in Northern Italy. And, it's Duke, Ludovico Sforza, commissioned Leonardo to make a horse like no other to honor the Dukes father, Francesco Sforzo. It was to be a massive, bronze-cast statue the largest statue ever built, standing 24 feet high.

Leonardo made a great number of preparatory drawings for his Sforza Horse. His notebooks are filled with proportional studies of horses. There are detailed diagrams of the anatomy of horses, along with notes on how to cast it, and it would weigh 80 tons once complete! Leonardo made the clay model to scale, but the bronze horse was not to be. In 1499, the French army threatened an attack. The metal intended for the Sforza Horse would be needed to make canons. Leonardo left Milan before the French Army marched on the city. Seeing the massive clay horse, the French soldiers could not resist using it for target practice.Thereafter it was reduced to rubble. Leonardo became despondent and at the same time, vowed to one day see his horse completely built.

Much has been written throughout history about the "Horse that Never Was". Five hundred years after the destruction of the clay model, based on the notes and sketches of Leonardo, the 24-foot bronze horse was cast. In fact, two full-scale statues were completed. One stands in Michigan, while the other was given as a gift to the City of Milan. United Airline Pilot Charles Dent made it happen. Upon seeing the original sketches that had been rediscovered in Spain, he started the process of raising the necessary funds to build the full-scale, bronze horse. His plan was to give it as a gift to the Italians from the Americans. Being something of a sculptor himself, he built a clay model of the horse to Leonardo's specifications. And, although Charles Dent died in 1994, his dream lived on and over four-million dollars was raised. On September 10th, 1999, exactly 500 years after the French destroyed Leonardo's clay model, the bronze statue was unveiled in Milan. On October 7th, 1999, a second casting of the horse was unveiled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This second horse is known as the American Horse.

Along with his sudies of mammals, Leonardo made hundreds of bird sketches. In the medieval publication Lives of Artists, Giorgio Vasari tells how Leonardo would go to the markets and buy caged birds, and then open their cages, giving them back their freedom.(1) Leonardo studied the motion of their wings in flight as well as their anatomy and physiology. He wrote down and illustrated his own theories on the flight of birds and was inspired to make several sketches of mechanical flying machines. He wrote a treatise called Codex on The Flight of Birds in which he made diagrams of a helical wing, beating wings, a parachute, and bat wings. Later he realized the problems with human-powered propulsion and began making notes and diagrams of gliders. He also designed a machine based on a helical screw that was 32 or 33 feet in diameter.(2) It was supposed to lift off and fly as the blade rotated, resembling a modern-day helicopter.

Leonardos passionate interest in studying animals was unique for his time. He studied and observed animals, and sketched and painted them with grace and realism. Other Renaissance artists like Michelangelo (1475-1564) and Raphael (1483-1520), who focused more on the humanity and divinity in art, did not include animals in their works to the extent as Leonardo did.(3) Without neglecting the Divine in Humanity, Leonardo above all other Renaissance artists, elevated all of nature and made it part of the Divine.

Can I Lose My Frequent Flyer Miles?

Earning frequent flyer miles takes work and time, and you have been willing to put in that effort and the time necessary to store up a wealth of miles. Although, there are times when miles expire and are no longer available to you, leaving you with no rewards at all. These programs are offered by multiple airlines, and are propelled by trying to gain customer loyalty. In reality, would you really choose to buy an airline ticket from one company at the same price as your company and not get the air miles for it? Or, does it not matter if you might lose those miles? It is important to investigate this before choosing a frequent flyer program to join.

Expiration

It is a fact. It is true. It is inevitable. Some airlines do have policies that call for expiration of miles after a certain period of time. Of course, this is an important factor to airlines because they want to provide some incredible incentives and rewards that people will want to use their air miles before they expire. Although it can save people a lot of money, many people dont take advantage of their air miles, which also has a huge role in the reason they have expiration dates. It is very easy to find out if your frequent flyer miles have an expiration date. All it takes is some reading of the fine print in your program information, and it should be extremely clearly expressed.

Business Going Bust

These days there are many different airlines that are going out of business and claiming bankruptcy. After the September 11th attacks on the United States this became the reality for many airline companies. At this point, many people that are involved in these frequent flyer programs would be concerned that they may lose all of their earned miles, but this is the case no matter what. There are clauses in all frequent flyer programs that allow airlines to discontinue the honoring of air miles at any time they choose, although many do not unless facing bankruptcy. There is a good side to all of this havoc; if a company is going bankrupt it usually means that the company is going to be purchased by an existing airline. Typically, the purchasing airline will work out an agreement to honor your air miles, some if not all. Although, if a company does need to liquidate that will ensure a loss of frequent flyer miles across the company.

Frequent flyer miles are offered to keep a customer loyal to an airline. Airline companies rarely refuse to honor earned air miles, and as long as you are staying loyal these companies should not be facing bankruptcy. But remember, most people do not take advantage of their miles, thus there is a very low liability in relation to these programs.

Wear a comfortable light jumper or cardigan to keep warm, cabin temperature is usually set at 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (72 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit).

Apply a lot of moisturizer on the skin, especially on the face and hands to avoid dryness of the skin.

Use lip balm to keep the lips moisturized.

If you are wearing makeup, do not remove it before rest. It keeps the skin from losing moisture in the flight.

Walk around constantly whenever possible to improve blood circulation. This will avoid DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).

Hope these tips will make your next flight a pleasant one!

Yick! This Is Not Going To Work

Online dating is hot. People are finding out that meeting someone online is not only very doable but can be especially gratifying. .

But (theres always one of those) internet dating can sometimes produce less than positive results. For many people its when expectations meet reality.

For instance a guy who thinks hes found the right girl. He replies on her profile and suddenly they start communicating on a very regular basis.

The chemistry theyve built up through exchanging messages and talking on the phone blossoms. Now he considers the possibility of having more than an online relationship with the girl. He decides its time to set up their first real date.

And then it happens. They meet for first time over lunch and its a disaster. The girl appears to be somewhat different than what the guy had expected or recalled. But worse of all, the cheerful chemistry and lively conversation they had built up abruptly vanished. The date came to an end and even though the girl said that she had a nice time and enjoyed herself the problem is still there. The guy does not know what to say.

This is not uncommon in the world of online dating. There are many cases where two people just dont click when they meet in person.

A lot of people who are involved in online dating usually ask why such things happen. They find it hard to believe that the person they have learned to like (and love) online is entirely different when in person.

So they try to assess themselves what went wrong. Is it their point of view that has changed? Were they deceived by the other person? Or was it just wrong from the very start?

The problem with most people is they fail to keep in mind that when they communicate to their dates online, they are really communicating, not with a person but with a series of texts. This is because any answers can always be fabricated or the other person can always deceive his or her date.

When this happens, personal meetings often end up like the one mentioned above. This is because reality is entirely different from what the computer screen illustrates.

Nevertheless, in real life, youve got to know how to exit from the situation without having to hurt the other persons feelings.

1. It would be better not to delve on the issue about not having the right chemistry in the first place, or point out the reason why an individual cannot pursue the dating any longer.

In order to break things up easily, don't focus on the issue of not getting the expectations one had started to build before you met in person. Don't excuse yourself on the grounds that your date is not good-looking enough, or be hurtful in any way.

2. Explain the importance of finding each others right mate in order to build a happy relationship.

An individual should at least try to make an extra effort on explaining how chemistry works with two people and that lack of such value could be detrimental in ones relationship.

3. Excuses will only make it worse.

Rejection should be done in such a way that the other person will not be hurt. Thats going to be tough enough without you making dreadful excuses the other person will sense immediately

4. Be firm in your decisions.

If you start to tell the other person that you think the relationship will not work, but then go all wishy washy, you will only make the matter worse and generate negative feelings.

5. It is usually best to allow your date to express their sentiments and ask questions then answer the questions as honestly as possible.

When a person gets disappointed after meeting his or her online date in person, it would be better to set things straight at once and put an end on the situation before it gets out of hand.

Try and understand how your date is feeling and be kind to them, even though you are about to end the relationship. Remember if you were in their place, you would want your date to be kind to you.

Plagiarism: A Case Of Copy & Paste

"Fine words! I wonder where you stole 'em." - Jonathan Swift

Whether you write for the web or a magazine it can be tempting to lift a sentence or complete thought and move it into the body of your work. After all, it seems to ft the premise you are working on and youre facing a deadline.

This is a form of stealing that is addressed often in schools across the nation when students are too tired or lazy to finish an essay using their own words.

Taking something from one man and making it worse is plagiarism. - George A. Moore

In order to become knowledgeable about a subject you must conduct research. In doing so you gain insight from those who have also conducted research. In many ways your research is a compilation of other research. It is possible for you to write a more comprehensive article with less first-hand knowledge than some of the expert authors you were able to research.

However, if you sidestep proper research you could wind up with an end result that is filled with plagiarism and may well miss the point of your original research.

"Where do architects and designers get their ideas?" The answer, of course, is mainly from other architects and designers, so is it mere casuistry to distinguish between tradition and plagiarism? - Stephen Bayley

We learn the writing styles of others and adapt our own to emulate others depending on our own interests. Many great writers are perceived as such because they are also voracious readers. In turn the styles of the writers, whose words they consumed, became a piece of the readers writing style.

In the classic sense of the word, we all plagiarize. We all borrow ideas, thoughts, styles and voice from others who have mined the art of writing.

Writers are blessed in the 21st Century to have the Internet to conduct a broad range of research requirements. The trouble writers face today is using the copy and past function on their word processing software and taking chunks of research from someone else and then passing it off as if they were the original authors.

Originality, I fear, is too often only undetected and frequently unconscious plagiarism - W. R. Inge

Our writing skills are often an amalgam of all we have absorbed in our writing, but we must do our best to present our articles in a manner that includes our own thoughts and when the words of others are used they should be cited. Your credibility as a writer is at stake.

Langkawi: Heaven of Ecotourism and Travel Adventure

Langkawi situated just off the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia comprises a group of 104 tropical islands during the low tides and 99 Island during the high tides. The main island Langkawi, is 47. 848 Hectare followed by Pulau Dayang Bunting and Pulau Tuba while some of the others appear to be mere dots in the emerald green ocean when viewed from the air.

In Langkawi a nature adventure had a true-blue naturalist as their guide. The guides name is Irshad Mobarak. Dubbed the Jungle-wallah (Jungle-fellow) of Langkawi (http://www.junglewallah.com), he is perfect for the job as he possesses vast knowledge about Langkawis wildlife, gleaned from years of trekking and observation of its jungles, mangroves and wildlife.

Some people think the beauty of Langkawi lies in its pristine beaches. Others like the duty-free shopping. But Irshad and his team of naturalists at Natural History Tours (http://www.wildlangkawi.com) reckon that the edge Langkawi has over places like Bali and Phuket is its jungle and wildlife.

As such Irshad and his team have been actively involved in preserving Langkawis natural environment. His social-responsible company provides real ecotourism experiences such as nature walks, birdwatching, jungle-trekking and mangrove tours in kayaks or motorized boats without the gimmicks activities involve.

His pet peeve is the eagle-feeding sessions at the mangrove swamps of the Kilim River. While it is quite a sight to see dozens of white-bellied sea eagles and brahminy kites circling in the sky and swooping down on their food, Irshad feels its bad for the birds.

What youre doing is habituating the eagles to take food from humans when they usually feed on fish. Now they are given chicken guts, and these are from farm-bred chickens fed with antibiotics and hormones, making it unhealthy. It may affect their bone development and the integrity of the shells of their eggs. Irshad said contaminated feed could kill a lot of birds, as each feeding attracts between 50 to 100 birds.

Not only is Irshad fully acquainted with information on the wildlife in Langkawi, he is also great at handling children. His young explorer club is a hit for students summer program in Malaysia and tourists traveling with their children. The trick is not to bore them to death. You can be much more informative with adults, but with children, you need to make it more experiential. They need to touch and smell and conduct experiments.

Irshad, whos especially love birds, said Langkawi has recorded 190 species of birds, including brown winged kingfisher, black hooded oriole and mountain hawk eagle. The mountain hawk eagle which can be identified by its very pronounced crest with two feathers can only be found in Langkawi and Irshad has recorded 3 different individual here.

The relatively small and cut-off habitat of an island like Langkawi allows for many of its flora and fauna to evolve into unique species over thousands of years. But it also possessed a danger of Habitat-fragmentations. One of Irshad ongoing project is planting figs trees closer to the road so the canopy on either side of the road will meet and become close enough for animals to cross over. This is one way to counter the negative effects of habitat fragmentations and we hope to see the results in 10 years, Irshad said. Visitor can also get involve in this program by purchasing trees and plant it during their visit to Langkawi (http://www.treesfornature.com)

Who is the Jungle-Wallah of Langkawi?

In the 80s, the Negri Sembilan-born Irshad was a decathlete and rugby player employed by a major bank institution. He worked for five years with the bank in Kuala Lumpur, only to discover the corporate world was simply not his cup of tea.

The turning point in his life came during a vacation in Tioman Island between 1981 and 1982. He realized that what he really wanted was to be closer to nature.

So I quit my job, traveled and bummed around for a couple of years, said Irshad, and then he found Langkawi. The islands beauty and mystique inspired him to embark on his own study of its ecosystems.

I saw the potential for nature-related work. I got a job as recreation manager at Datai and at the same time was involved in conservation work, he said. Soon, a new position was created for him, that of a Resident-naturalist. And today, after 19 years, he is so well-versed in the subject, he is considered an expert. He has trained many individual who is now employed by other hotels as their own Resident-naturalist and some of them work as independent nature guides.

Irshad considered himself very lucky because his work, his hobby and his passion are all fused into one. He also believes that taking care of the natural environment is an integral part of being a steward of the Earth. He is recently won DiGi Amazing Malaysians Award 2007, an award for Malaysians who were nominated by the public for their passion and dedication in heritage conservation.

Finding Personal Car Registration Plates for British Vehicle Owners

>From the clothes we wear and the way we decorate our homes to the type of music we listen to, many aspects of our lives demonstrate our own tastes and personalities. More and more motorists are choosing to carry on this trend onto their otherwise standard vehicles by finding personal registration plates for their cars. In their simplest form a British car registration is used to identify vehicles on our roads. However in a more exciting and popular light, a car registration can personalize our vehicles and enable us to make our individual mark on our cars. Over 3500 new car registrations are sold each week in the UK and this number continues to rise.

Since the introduction of the internet, finding personal car registration plates for British vehicle owners is incredibly easy. With an average of 30 millions car registrations available at any one time, number plate dealers provide easy to navigate websites to narrow down your search as quickly as possible. Vehicle registration numbers are available in many formats including dateless number plates, suffix and prefix car registrations and the new style of British car registrations that the DVLA currently issue.

When finding car registration plates there are countless personal ideas to search for. Visit http://www.capeplates.co.uk/ for search tips on personal car registrations for the British public. Many personal car registration numbers on todays roads read peoples names or initials. Name plates account for some of the most expensive number plates on the market and many are worth several thousand pounds. Thankfully cheaper alternatives are available and the majority of people who are finding personal car registrations opt for a car registration plate with their initials. This difference in price occurs because there are many combinations of initials available however with name plates there is just one perfect combination. Thousands of car registration numbers are now available for under 300.

Other popular searches when finding personal car registration plates are numbers relating to a date of birth or lucky and sacred numbers such as 7, 888 and 786. Many businesses also purchase vehicle registration for fleet cars and delivery vans to attract attention on the roads with a piece of unique advertising. Business car registration plates could read the company name, managers initials or words relating to their industry. Pimlico Plumbers in London are no strangers to this with their highly amusing and valuable collection of plumbing related car registration numbers. They own vehicle registrations such as LAV 1, BOG 1, W4 TER and DRA 1N amongst many others, all of which are assigned to their fleet of work vans.

Once you have found your new car registrations you can assign them to your vehicle at your local DVLA office or by posting your application to DVLA Swansea. You will need to include your V5 logbook and MOT certificate if applicable and in return you will receive a new tax disc displaying the new car registration and an update V5 logbook will follow a couple of weeks later. The new tax disc will have the same amount of license period left on it. Once assigned to a vehicle there are no other costs involved and British car registrations do not affect car insurance premiums.

Alternatively new car registrations can be kept on certificate for up to 12 months and then renewed annually for 25 payable to the DVLA. This feature allows people who are finding personal car registration plates to buy them even if they do not have a vehicle to assign the new car registration to.

Ross ODonnell writes for British car registration specialists http://www.capeplates.co.uk/ who offer millions of registrations to choose from and provides several search options for finding car registration plates. Cape Plates can assign your new car registration free of charge and provide acrylic number plates with your order.Philis Blog3905

Tips on How to Save on Auto Loans

How to Save on Auto Loans

A smart investor knows he must seize every opportunity that comes knocking at his door - as long as it allows him to save more. Auto refinancing is appealing to those whose credit scores are of good history. This is favorable for a buyer who has no negative records on his account whatsoever.

Auto loan gives the buyer the opportunity to refinance their loan at terms that allows them to save their money. However, refinancing is not saving. At least not what most people deem it to be. Refinancing means deducting monthly payments in order to save a little extra money. Car refinance loans are useful in downsizing.

Auto loans are just a click away, thanks to the Internet. Lenders specializing in refinancing are online to assist possible clients about auto loans. One must submit an application before any negotiation takes place. Provide the same documents required when making a loan at any bank or establishment.

But there are auto loan refinances that do not care even if you have a negative credit history. Refinancing at best rates are available if you have a clear record, but that does not mean that because you were a little off in paying at due time, you will not be able to get the auto loan that you are applying for. You still would but the rate won't be as good as opposed to you having a clear record.

Throughout the duration of the loan, there are opportunities to refinance the car loan. If you are opting for refinancing, know that the options for auto loans are negotiated with the lender beforehand. There can be changes as long as there is the approval from the lender and the person applying for the loan.

If you need refinancing as soon as possible, consult with the lender and try to work around auto loan refinancing requirements. By updating yourself with the services and programs offered by the various car refinance loan specialists out there, then you are more aware of which one you should choose - depending on the one that works for you best.

Refinance car loan specialists are more than willing to cooperate with you if the terms you are asking for are favorable for them. The catch is that when you choose to refinance then the rates are lower and you will be able to save more. Auto loan refinancing opens more doors to saving because it reduces your monthly payments at the interest rate of your choice.

Here is a tip before you invest on auto loans, what are your goals for refinancing? You have to compare with the other auto refinancing establishments before you fully decide on one. Choose one where you get the best deal and where you will be able to save more. You have a right to do so because it is your money and your investment.

For car owners, investing on auto loans is a wise decision because it gives them better deals. However, before you commit yourself to any refinancing agreement, you have to take into consideration all the terms that are involved in the car financing program you are committing to.

Also, by tapping the equity in your home loan, you will be able to lower down the interest payment when buying a car. That is because the home equity loan can actually provide a lower rate as opposed to a car loan. The former is more secured than the latter. You can consult a tax advisor for a second opinion. If you want you can approach an independent lender before you completely decide on which car to purchase. By arranging the terms and finances before buying the car, dealer financers will be able to assist the consumer in which auto loan refinancing can give him the best deal, making him save the most amount.

You must also be very wary of the zero-interest loans. Just like with any other deals, it may sound tempting but that is not usually the case. You may be buying a car for $18,000 and pay zero interest for two years through the dealer and getting a rebate of $3000, but how sure are you that there is no catch on that offer? If you do take the rebate and finance at the given percent, then who knows you may even save more.

Think twice before you make any decision. Especially since it involves money. Stretch your buck for as long as it would take.

Sell Your Car Online: Step 2, Using Pictures of Your Automobile Correctly

Selling your car or truck online is a great way to put it in front of potential buyers. In step one of this series, titled "Sell Your Car Online: Step 1, Taking High Quality Pictures of Your Automobile", you learned how to take great quality pictures of our vehicle.

The second step in placing an ad is selecting the pictures of the vehicle you want to use in your listing. Remember the hypothetical situation from step 1? Using multiple pictures in your listing can give the potential buyer loads of information about your vehicle before the buyer even reads the first word about it.

You must choose the correct combination of pictures to display with your listing for maximum effect. If you followed the directions in step 1, you should have at least 15 to 20 pictures to choose from. Group the pictures into categories depending on the angle (for example: front, left, rear, right, front right, rear left, under the hood, interior, etc.). Then select the best picture from each category and discard the rest.

Now you should have a group of about 7 to 10 high quality pictures. Comb through these pictures and select the ones that, if displayed together, would show the most detail about your vehicle. The goal is not to overwhelm the potential buyer with tons of photos showing the same details, but to display great photos of different areas of the vehicle that convey the overall condition of the vehicle.

A great example of photos to use is: front driver's side, rear passenger's side, under the hood, interior, and any after market add-ons to the car. You should use at least 4 photos with each listing, but feel free to use more.

After you select the correct photos, you need to edit them. Most auto classified web sites have a maximum file size for photos you can upload with your listings. The highest quality settings for digital cameras can be anywhere from 1 MB to 5 MB per photo and greater depending on the camera. So what do you do if the photos you take exceed that size? You have to edit or resize them. But before you do that, you need to know how images are displayed on computer monitors as opposed to print.

High quality images displayed on the web are actually low quality when printed. Computer monitors display images at 72 DPI. A good quality printing will be 300 DPI or greater. A photo displayed on a monitor at 600 pixels (8.33 inches) wide will only be 2 inches wide if printed on paper. To get a good quality 8.33 inch print on paper, the photo will need to be at least 2500 pixels wide. This is a big difference in file size (and download time).

The optimal size for photos on the internet is approximately 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels high. If your camera can't take pictures this size, even in the lowest quality setting, you will have to manually resize them. To do this you need an image editing program. Most computers have at least a simple image editing program on them. If your computer doesn't have one, you'll need to download one from the internet. You can find free and low cost image editing programs by going to www.download.com and searching for "image editing software."

However, you can skip the image editing step if you find a car classifieds site, like VINclassifieds.com, that automatically resizes the photos upon upload so they are the optimal size for the internet. This could eliminate the need for you to manually resize your photos before upload.

Choose the right pictures for your classified ad and viewers will set up and take notice. Look for the next installment titled "Sell Your Car Online: Step 3, Using the Right Information to Help Sell Your Automobile." Happy selling.

Common Dating Conflicts And How To Handle Them

Dating on the internet can sometimes become tedious, and understanding how to resolve conflicts is of crucial importance. If you notice that your partner is not answering your emails, you should automatically terminate the date and move on to someone else. Failing to answer emails is rude unless they have a good reason for doing so. Lying is also a common problem for people who are dating.

To understand the concept of lying, you must first understand why people lie on dates. Many people lie in order to avoid what they see as being a potential conflict. For example, you may ask your date a question, and they may give you the answer that they think you want to hear instead of what they honestly think. This is problematic, because these people are creating false impressions. They are attempting to make you think they agree with you so that you will like them. However, their actions will eventually speak louder than their words. Being up front and letting you know they don't agree with you will show that they are honest.

Another reason why people lie is to avoid making changes to their lifestyle or behavior. However, by doing this, they are breaking one of the most important rules of dating, and this rule is to be yourself. When you lie to your partner so that you can avoid having to make changes to your life, you are being unfair to them, and you are being unfair to yourself. You are being unfair to your partner because you are deceiving them, making them think you're someone you're not. No matter how hard you try, your true colors will eventually come forth. You are also being unfair to yourself because you are trying to play a role that does not reflect your true personality.

A lot of people believe that lying or deception will allow them to avoid conflicts in their relationship. However, it will only make things worse in the long run, especially if you should decide to get married. A person that is telling the truth will have consistency in the things they say, while a liar will constantly have inconsistencies, and will need to cover up one lie with another.

Writing & Publishing Tips: How To Get a Top Literary Agent & Sign That Coveted 6 Figure Deal

Top literary agents get about 400-1000 unsolicited queries every month from hopeful book authors. Publishing houses sometimes juggle 5000. Most of my private clients and participants in my seminar, How To Get A Six-Figure Book Advance, ask me how is an author supposed to get an agents attention when there is so much competition?

First of all, dont write a book -- write a book proposal. Publishers buy ideas not books. To capture a reputable literary agents attention youll need to show that youre a media star, or a star in the making. Good writing can be bought but star power cant.

Here are 5 more tips to landing a top literary agent & a six-figure advance:

1. Do your research.

Literary agents specialize in very specific interests. For example, my agent loves tearjerkers but wont take on books that involve children in peril. You want an agent who has represented books similar to yours, who sells books on a regular basis, who is devoted to you, and has the time to give you a little guidance through the literary labyrinth.

Sometimes a newer, less experienced literary agent who is hungry for business is more dedicated and has more time to spend with you than an established one with a reputable cadre of authors. I recommend 2 ways to find the literary agent right for you:

- Look in the acknowledgements of books similar to your topic. A happy author always thanks his literary agent. Once youve located your ideal agents become familiar with their tastes, learn everything you can about their interests, pet peeves and preferences, and review their websites for submission guidelines. Show that knowledge in your query letter or initial phone conversation.

- Read Publisher's Weekly, Publishers Lunch, and Variety to see who sold what and for how much. You will get a sense of an agents sensibility and be able to speak knowledgeably about the types of books they prefer when you know whats happening in the industry in general and in your area of expertise in particular. Youll know more than most people who submit proposals as youll be apprised of books that arent even published yet and movie deals in the making. And youll get a sense of market trends.

2. Write a book proposal that reads like a thriller.

After youve located the agents you want to approach, the next step is to complete your book proposal. Once interested by your call or query letter the very best literary agents move at hyper speed. Theyll want to see your book proposal--now. Theyll either ask you to Fed Ex or email it.

There is a real art to writing a best-selling book proposal that makes the literary agent youve chosen say, I want this person as a client. To make your book proposal read in one sitting youll want to write in short paragraphs with strong headlines. Be sure to give the chosen agent an immediate impression of how your book will read by writing the proposal in the same style as your book.

Find unusual, quirky, provocative tidbits about your subject that will entice the literary agent to say, Wow, I never knew this. Imagine the kind of tips that a terrific magazine article would include. When an editor at a top New York publishing house is reading your book proposal they are thinking, what kind of media exposure will we be able to get for this book? Can we get magazine feature articles, newspaper pieces, radio shows? Will the subject matter and the author interest the producers of Good Morning America, the Today Show, CNN, or Oprah?

3. Prove you have a platform.

The one thing that thrills a New York publisher the most is your platform. Your platform is simply your reach. How many people are influenced by your ideas worldwide? To simplify this even further, a publisher wants to know one thing and one thing only (once they are interested in the subject matter of your book), and that is...how many books are you going to sell and to whom. Youll need to demonstrate that youre a great media guest, that you have an audience eager to snap up your books and that you have a proven track record for selling your books or wares.

4. Reveal how your past performance predicts future behavior.

Map out each venue and determine how many people are in attendance and how many of those people will buy your book. Airline Security

Ours is a changing world, and recent events have caused people the world over to take on new security measures, both personally and on a corporate level. Traveling to a foreign country, and even within your own country, has become more stringent with enhanced security requirements.

To beef up security and enhance customer service, many airlines, like TSA, are now conducting individual passenger screening at security checkpoints. TSA staff and screening equipment are concentrated at these checkpoints to perform random searches. Every passenger is required to have a boarding pass and photo identification in order to pass through a security gate. Tickets and ticket confirmations are longer accepted as valid identification at these checkpoints.

Many airlines now offer four methods of purchasing a boarding pass. New and convenient options include using the curbside check-in option, the airline's self-service ticket kiosk in the airport lobby, and the opportunity to purchase and print the boarding pass directly from your airline website. Of course, you can also pick up your boarding pass at the airline's ticket counter in the airport.

Check with your airline or travel agent to confirm the time you should arrive at the airport. It's also a good idea to confirm that there are parking lots available at the airport, or if shuttle service might be required.

Double-check to make sure that you have all of your valuables with you, as well as the documents required for boarding. Make sure that you have your boarding pass or ticket confirmation ready, as well as a piece of government-issued photo identification such as a driver's license or passport. If you have a medical implant or other device that can trigger the security alarm system, make sure that you have certified documentation from your doctor. Remove any prohibited items, such as pocketknives, before going through airport security.

It's a good idea to stay on the alert at all times. Keep close watch on your luggage, carry-on bags and other belongings. Never agree to carry a parcel for a stranger. If you find unattended bags at the airport, report it to a security officer rather than trying to pick them up yourself. If you see any individual that looks or acts suspicious, point it out to airline security. More than ever before, airline security is very serious business. Never joke about having bombs or firearms on board a plane or at security. The mere mention of such items can lead to lengthy questioning and possible expulsion from the airport.

You have definite rights as an airline passenger, but remember that this is a commercial service and your agreement may be subject to changes. In the case of a delayed flight, airlines will usually try to accommodate passengers by offering a seat aboard the next available flight. Rescheduling your flight on another airline is also an option, but there may be cancellation policies in effect.

Airlines typically overbook flights so double check your reservations to make sure you're guaranteed a seat. When a particular flight is overbooked, the airline will ask for volunteers to wait and board the next flight, and may offer cash or a free trip as an incentive. If there are no volunteers and you are involuntarily bumped, the airline will reserve another flight and you will be compensated for the inconvenience. If you fail to confirm your reservation or meet the check-in deadline, and if the plane has fewer than six available seats, no reward is offered for involuntary bumping.

You can easily avoid boarding hassles if you know your rights as a passenger and understand the airline terms and conditions for boarding. For your own safety and the security of airline personnel and other passengers, you need to take extra caution to avoid inevitable circumstances.

Being well informed is the ticket to enjoying a safe, secure, and pleasurable flight.

The Path to Forever: Intimacy and a Lasting Marriage

For a marriage to survive and last until that dreamy "forever," intimacy must exist between the couple. What is intimacy anyway? This just does not pertain to the act of making love, but fulfilling each other's emotional needs. It entails enlightening conversations in between kisses and caresses.

A lot of marriage counselors chalk up the longevity of a marriage to how intimate the couple is. Here are some ways to achieve that intimacy for that ideal, almost magical marriage:

1. All work and no intimacy make a dull couple.

It is a given that after a crazy day at the office, the husband and wife both feel exhausted. But they must not let it get in the way of their relationship. They must allow for some quality time in and out of their love bed.

2. The husband must give what his wife wants: quality talk time.

Wives want to talk things out and express what is inside their hearts. The husband must grant her that as this is one way to achieve emotional intimacy.

3. The couple must still exert an effort to look attractive.

It does not mean that both must be dressed up all the time. But married couples must still try their best to look nice for their partners. This is one of the ways to start up the intimacy.

4. The couple must schedule dates.

Dating must not end at marriage. In fact, both should set a time to go out and have fun, just like before.

5. Husband and wife must continually unleash their romantic side.

Kisses, hugs, flowers, holding hands, stolen smacks...the works - they do magic in a relationship.

6. Surprises are nice.

Sweet surprises always lead to intimacy. If the couple knows when to pull off these incredibly romantic stints, then that's a surefire way to attain a divorce-proof relationship.

7. Solving a problem before it gets blown out of proportion is important.

Intimacy loses its appeal once it gets "infected" by those conflicts that cripple the relationship. Conflicts should let a couple grow and not cause the downfall.

It is nice to earn that happily-ever-after plateau. But marriage is not as easy as a Disney fairytale had told everyone. Intimacy must be maintained long after the honeymoon is over to guarantee the husband and wife that yes, this marriage would last. That yes, forever is possible.

Find Your WHY For Becoming A Home-Based Worker

Make Money Online While Enjoying Life

As defined by the United States Census Bureau, an extreme commute is a daily journey to work that takes more than 90 minutes each way. According to the bureau, about 2% of American adult workers are so-called "extreme" commuters. Not surprisingly, the number of extreme commuters in the New York, Baltimore, and Los Angeles metropolitan areas is much greater than the national average.

Midas sponsored an "America's Longest Commute" award in 2006. The winner drove 372 miles (about 4 1/2 hours) to and from work each day.

I commute an average of 140 miles a day, so I guess this makes me an. extreme commuter. I have been doing this commute for 22 years. I live in Princeton, New Jersey, and work in White Plains, New York.

Even if you are not an extreme commuter, you are probably quite familiar with congested highways, and long delays during rush hour. Even straphangers have to put up with overcrowded trains, and delays.

With environmentalists expressing concern about The Carbon Footprint, and its effects on every living thing on planet earth, working from home is an attractive way to reduce air pollution by having fewer cars on the road.

Planners of our highway networks have known for many years that building more highways and roads do not ease road congestion and pollution in that new highways quickly become congested also.

No matter how short, or long your commute is, take a moment and imagine the stress, time, gas, and tolls that being a commuter entails.

For most people, working from home represents freedom to structure their lives and time in more rewarding ways.

There are many benefits in working from home. I listed a few of those benefits below. Im sure you can come up with your own personal list.

Whether you drive, carpool or ride a bus or train, commuting is expensive.

With the price of gasoline at an all time high, how much money could you save by not having to commute?

If you are a parent with small children, how nice would it be not to worry about babysitters, or daycare?

For people living in remote areas, working from home gives the advantage of not having to worry about access to major cities where employment is more plentiful.

Technology such as VOIP (voice over IP), skype, efax, online video, broadband cable for homes, allows the home-based worker to be fully equipped to handle any job in a competent, and professional manner.

Being a virtual worker, gives the freedom of not having to consider time zones.

People, who are disabled, and unable to work outside the home, have the opportunity to generate income.

With the Internet offering a myriad of opportunities to make a substantial income online, no wonder there has been a mushroom effect. People of all ages and economic levels are making the decision to work from home. With the first wave of baby boomers starting to retire, they will contribute to a substantial increase in home-based businesses.

There is such a proliferation of business opportunities online. How do you find the right one? I have listed a few questions that may act as a guide in deciding which home-based business is a good fit.

What are your interests or passion?
What are you good at?
How much time are you willing to devote to your business?
Is the opportunity or company reliable?
What is the payment structure of the opportunity or business?

Answering these questions should start you on the path to find the perfect home-based business.

I have started an online home-based business, part time right now, but quickly getting to the point where I will be working from home full time.

I have been an educator, and trainer for quite a few years. For over 20years I have done an extreme commute of 140 miles round trip a day. I live in the New York Metro area, and have to deal with the bridges and tunnels and traffic that is a nightmare. fun-fun-fun. Polly Blog17565

IPod Travel Accessories

IPod Accessories for Travel

From iPod auto accessories to travel Podcasts

Apple's iPods have blown the mp3 player competition away like a tornado in Kansas. With unbeatable marketing, Apple has turned the iPod into more than just an mp3 player, but an integral part of the average person's day. In our high tech society, the iPod now is even an important part of traveling. With a billion accessories, here is a run-down of the necessary iPod travel accessories - or at least as necessary as an iPod can be.

Road trippin' - iPod auto accessories

Taking your iPod on a road trip with you is a lot easier than carrying a hundred CDs. There are plenty of iPod auto accessories and adapters that enable you to listen to your iPod in your car, some are better than others though. If you have an older car that still has a cassette player, I recommend using Coby's $9.00 CA-747. It's not fancy, but it does the job. But as most people do not have cassette players in their cars anymore, iPod FM transmitters are the next option. The only problem with iPod FM transmitters is finding a station to tune to and being able to stay tuned to that station for a long duration. In my opinion, the best iPod FM transmitter is the iTrip FM Transmitter from Griffin. The large LCD screen makes it easier to see what you are doing while driving and the multiple broadcasting modes help you get the best possible audio quality from your radio. The battery of an iPod doesn't last forever, but there are plenty of ways to power your iPod in the car. I recommend the Griffin PowerJolt Auto Charger, to keep the tunes going while driving.

Walking around

People walking around with earbuds sticking out their ears is a common site these days. If you're on vacation with a friend, I recommend buying the Monster iSplitter, so whether you're on a plane or a train or walking around - you can share your music with a friend.

Carrying it all

With all these iPod accessories, you'll need something to carry them in. Depending on how many iPod accessories you are bringing there are many choices to carry and protect your precious iPod within. The most popular and well-made iPod bags are Waterfield Designs' iPod Gear Pouch, which comes in two sizes. The small bag will fit all size iPods, earbuds, Firewire/USB cable and power or supply or arm band. The large fits all of the above, plus other accessories like a car stereo adapter, FM transmitter, extra batter and more. Plus they come in different colors.

If you are carrying more stuff, there are plenty of messenger bags that have special iPod and mp3 player holders. For example STM's Xs drift courier bag is large enough to fit all your gear, but not so big that it's bulky and in the way.

Protection

You wouldn't want to damage your precious iPod - would you? There are plenty protection options from the cute and colored iPod socks to the multiple iSkin options out there. My personal favorite though is the Otterbox Waterproof cases, perfect for beach vacations.

Tours

Podcasts are huge, and there are hundreds if not thousands of Travel Podcasts out there. Wcities offers free City Guide Podcast downloads for over 300 cities. You can find a Podcast for just about any destination or topic. For more great travel Podcasts visit the TP Insider.

With hundreds of iPod accessories out there, the decisions are endless; luckily TravelPost.com is here to guide you along the way from iPod auto accessories and adapters to iPod FM transmitters and Podcasts.

Management Qualifications - An Overview

Management Qualifications - An Overview

The article is about management courses, in a specific way that explains the different levels of such courses, what each type of course contains, how each different type and level of course should help you, how it should change you, and also this is about how each type of course is regarded in the world of business and management.

This article is designed to set the scene, by outlining the range of courses that are available to managers at the different stages of their development.

Lets start with the foundation, introductory, courses, suitable for those who are taking a first step into the world of management, whether it is as an employee in an organisation, or as a budding entrepreneur.

In this band there is a large number of options, ranging from individual short courses, focusing on skills needed in areas such as teamwork, basic budgeting, decision making, quality, etc

Many organisations run in-house courses in these areas, but it there are also many providers who offer them full qualifications that are stand-alone but also the first step on the management ladder, include the Higher National Certificate and then the Diploma, the HNC and HND, highly regarded national and internationally recognised qualifications, usually taking 2 academic years if studied at college, or 18 months if by distance learning.

These (relative to management) include the HNC / HND in Business & Management / Finance / Marketing / Law and others.

Alongside these are:

Professional Development Certificates in Management, part of the national framework of qualifications, offered again in colleges and by distance learning providers, with content that introduces the learner to areas such as teamwork, supervisory activity, finance, decision making.

NVQs ~ national vocational qualifications ~ in Management (and many related subjects) at introductory level:

Level 3 ~ introductory / newcomer to management.

As the manager, or specialist, gains more experienced managers, the range widens and rises, and the qualification taken will depend on the individuals experience and position the main options are:

Level 4 ~ suitable for reasonably experienced junior to middle managers

Level 5 ~ aimed at experienced, knowledgeable managers at middle to senior level

Level 7 ~ aimed at strategic managers

Level 6 ? dont ask ! its a mystery even for those of us in the business !

NVQs are competence based which means, in essence, that the student must show evidence, must prove that she/he is competent (in management) at the level, and to the criteria, described in that particular NVQ.

NVQs are popular with large, bureucratic organisations, that need to be certain that their managers at all levels are, provably, competent.

Another group is the professional development awards including:

Professional Development Certificate in Management ~ and ~ Professional Development Diploma in Management ~ and Advanced Professional Development Diploma in Management.

These are also banded at Level 3, Level 4, Level 5, and Level 7 in similar fashion to the NVQs, because these qualifications are accepted as being in the national qualifications framework or NQF (!!)
some providers offer variations of these, with the CMS Certificate in Management Studies and the DMS Diploma in Management Studies being the most popular.

Indeed, the DMS is the UKs most widely recognised management qualification ~ the managers management qualification ~ and is the qualification that most organisations expect their middle to senior managers, and professional specialists, to hold.

In case youre thinking what about the MBA? for every MBA holder in the UK there is 100 with a DMS and 99% of those will not go on to, will not need to go on to, an MBA

Masters ~ MA, Msc, MBA ~ these are the next band, and are the highest management qualifications, not only in the UK but also in most countries around the world but, there are thousands of variations in content available, and considerable variation in quality and relevance, so choosing a suitable, appropriate quality, one of these is fraught with difficulty
* we will come back to these later

If you are thinking what about PhDs ~ doctorates ? ~ yes, they are higher level, but they dont in my view, truly fit into management courses because they are, and meant to be, academic in nature and not designed to improve the individuals management skills
